After 6 happy years we are selling our 1986 Dartline Frobisher, which comes with residential moorings in an amazing central Oxford location. The boat is 72ft long, and has a 1.8 litre Ford diesel engine.

The front doors open into a kitchen with gas cooker and boiler, a dishwasher, and a full sized fridge-freezer. Bathroom has a Thetford cassette toilet, and a bath with shower. The majority of the inside is a spacious open plan living area, with adjoining bedroom at the end. The living room has a dining area, a mixed fuel stove (a Morso Squirrel, with a backboiler connected to radiators in the bedroom and bathroom), sofa and space for a desk. The bedroom has a double chest of drawers and a double bed, with an open wardrobe behind. The boat doesn’t have a front deck, which means it has more internal space than most narrow boats. It has a large aft deck with space for table and chairs.

The boat has a historic right to this mooring, and it will be automatically assigned to the new owner. The mooring comes with mains electricity (on a meter), a phone line (and internet capability), a postal address, water tap, and Elsan facilities on the towpath (which include a communal washing machine + tumble dryer). An annual mooring fee is payable to the Canal & River Trust. It is located within a 5 minute walk of central Oxford, the train station, the bus station, and the popular Oxford neighbourhood of Jericho. Despite this central location, the mooring is quiet, surrounded by trees and wildlife (kingfishers and herons are regular visitors), and opposite the lovely grounds of Worcester college. A few hundred metres up from the boat is a lock giving access to the River Thames. The canal terminates just past the mooring, so canal traffic is minimal.

The value of boats along this stretch reflects the unique location of the mooring, right in the heart of Oxford. We are selling at a reduced price for the area due to time wasters, and in acknowledgement that the boat would benefit from some improvements, such as painting externally.
